RHHS volleyball starts strong

Ridgeland-Hardeeville High volleyball coach Kevin Palmer said he’s pleased with his team’s play.

The Jaguars were 2-2 as of last week, led by seniors Lisbeth Cisneros and Samantha Smith.

The team visits Wade Hampton Wednesday, Sept. 27 and hosts Wade Hampton Thursday, Sept. 28 and Battery Creek Tuesday, Oct. 3. RHHS is home Oct. 4 against Estill.

Palmer offered his thoughts on the team:

Zaria Wilson (seven digs, two aces): “Getting better and better each game.”

Lisbeth Cisneros (27 digs): “The heart of the team. Relentless effort.”

Rahjahah Pugh: “Great attitude and work ethic. Plays both JV and varsity.”

Latrinia Fadden: “Tremendous server and very vocal. Great defensive player and court awareness.”

Dee Asia Mikell (Tied for team lead in blocks): “Great defender and team leader.”

Samantha Smith: “Vocal captain who is all over the place. Effort is second to none.”

Lenasia Singletary (22 aces, 19 kills): “Team MVP. Co-captain.”

Lakasia Hargrove: “Hard-working player that is looking to improve daily.”

Amani Galvan: “Hard-working player, looking to improve on and off the court.”

Shaniyah Washington: “Great player, can play any position.”

Lakasia Hargrove: “Upcomimg player with great attitude.”

Alaysia Exley: (20 aces, 25 digs): “Junior with tremendous skills.”

Regenia Jenkins: “Great player with tremendous volleyball IQ.”

Jaylin Scott: “Another youngster with unlimited potential”

Kendalaysia Washington: “Excellent all-around player.”

Maylasia Westbrook: “An all-region player.”
