Sales center for Margaritaville opens Saturday
Get ready to explore Hardeeville’s next big venture.
The sales center at Latitude Margaritaville Hilton Head is set to open 9 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 17. There will be tours, live entertainment (including a steel drum band), refreshments and a coffee bar. The tours run 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and no appointment is necessary.
Plans for the 55-and-older community, on Hwy. 278, about 2.5 miles off Interstate 95, were announced last May. This weekend the community gets a first look.
“Latitude Margaritaville is a brand-new concept that is redefining active adult living,” said William Bullock, senior vice president of Minto Communities. “These 55-and-better communities are designed specifically for people who are seeking the unique fun lifestyle of Margaritaville.”
Bullock said there’s been more than 100,000 prospective buyers registering to receive information about the community.
He said the interest Minto Communities has seen in Latitude Margaritaville Hilton Head is similar to the interest shown in Latitude Margaritaville Daytona Beach, which has had more than 15,000 prospective buyers visit the sales center since its preview opening on Oct. 30.
Visitors can expect to see interactive displays, 3-D amenity models and will have the chance to see a selection of home designs, floor plans, exterior finishes and other features, according to Minto.
The 7,442-square-foot sales center will have Bahama shutters, coastal colors and a shaded front porch with Adirondack chairs.
Minto Communities said Phase 1 is underway with 203 home sites. Nine fully furnished model homes are expected to open by mid-2018. Home designs and floor plans will start in the low $200,000 range, a news release said.
“Minto has built in a three-week preview period between the Hardeeville sales center opening and March 10 when buyers will sign contracts to begin construction of their homes,” Bullock said. “While people are welcome to put down an early deposit to reserve their selected lot, elevation and floor plan at the sales center opening, they don’t have to. However, they might not then get the lot they want. The process is first come first serve.”
Amenities will include a resort-style pool, fitness center, social hall, game and hobby rooms, arts and learning programs, indoor and outdoor dining with signature Margaritaville food and beverage concepts, tennis and pickleball courts, and a 290,000-square-foot Margaritaville retail center, developed in partnership with Sutton Properties, Inc.
Buyers will be able to reserve a homesite in Phase 1, with home sales officially slated to begin March 10.
More than 3,000 homes are expected when the community is complete.
After Saturday’s opening, regular sales center hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday to Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sundays.
The community is part of the city’s expected growth as in the next 10 years Hardeeville officials expect the city to grow from 5,721 residents to 28,204 in 2028.
