Agape Family Life Center’s After School Program hosted its Thanksgiving Dinner on Nov. 20 for parents, teachers, volunteers and community members.

The delicious meal was prepared by Rebecca Young and Betty Gadson. The director of the After School program, Shirley Young, and her assistant, Teresa Smith, asked the students to plan the dinner as a creative educational project.

The meal included turkey, cornbread dressing, gravy, corn, potato souffle, blueberry muffins, cake, tea and bottled water.

The students performed a musical selection, “I Love Thanksgiving,” taught by music teacher Mrs. Johnson.

The students also presented their Thanksgiving Stem Project, taught by Ms. Enduri. Educational assistance is provided by some of Jasper County’s school district educators.

Agape Family Life Center’s After School program operates Monday-Friday from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. for pre-K through fifth-graders attending Jasper County elementary schools.
