Dogs showcase skills in Ridgeland

  • Windi Williams-Weaver/Special to JCST Brodie is an almost 4-year-old Border Collie owned by Sue Tetanich of Charleston. He was rescued by Phoenix Rising Border Collie Rescue at about 6 months old. He was found inside a refrigerator box and left outside in the cold.
  • Windi Williams-Weaver/Special to JCST Hype is a 7-year-old All American and has titles in agility, barn hunt, dock dogs and lure coursing. He is owned by Anna Blanton.
  • Windi Williams-Weaver/Special to JCST Madison is a 10-year-old Silky Terrier who started doing agility around age 5. She is owned by Lisa Nurminen of Charleston.
  • Windi Williams-Weaver/Special to JCST Lilah is a 6-year-old Goldendoodle, affectionately known as the “Super Doodle.” She is owned by Raechel Drill and they traveled five hours one way to get to Ridgeland from Jacksonville, N.C.

Morningstar’s Clever K9’s in Ridgeland hosted a UKI Agility competition Aug. 25-26. Items raffled off raised $113 for Morningstar Animal Rescue & Referral, Inc.

The next agility trial at Morningstar’s is Nov. 4-5.

The U.S. Open (national competition) is set for Nov. 9-12 in Jacksonville, Fla.
